Global Issues Games Evaluation

I played a game called "Against All Odds" and it was a really nice game. It is about helping a refugee escape from her country then help her find a shelter and then a job and so on until she gets and apartment. What I really liked about the game was that it was very realistic because it showed how people take a wrong impression about refugee's which is very true in some countries. I really liked the game and that's why I played it about 5 times.

Voicethread Evaluation

In order to make my voicethread I used Microsoft Office Word 2007, Microsoft Office Powerpoint 2007 and obviously voicethread which I accesses using Internet Explorer. During the making of my voicethread I had some technical issues. The first issue that I faced was that my power point wouldn't upload on voicethread and that wasted alot of my time. Another issue that I faced was recording my voice because I made mistakes while recording on alot of the slides and I had to repeat some of them 4 times and that was very cconfusing.I think my voicethread was good because it delivered a message and it had information. Another thing that I liked about my voicethread was that it had nice pictures which I got from search.creativecommons.org. The pictures were really important because they were the only visual things since we had to record the information. I chose those specific pictures because they matched what I had to say and some of them were interesting and some even were so good that I didn't have to explain alot becauase theyw ere so meaningful. I think my voicethread would have been better if there was some interesting facts at the end. Also, if my voice was louder it would have sounded better because once when I watched it I could not hear clearly because my voice was very low in the voicethread. If I was to do another voicethread in the future I would definitely add more slides and more interesting facts. The most important thing that I will do is make my voice louder while recording.

Voicethread Storyboard

Inorder to do my voicethread I had to do a storyboard about Biodiversity and Ecosystem first. In the storyboard I have the problem, why it's important, how it affects us and things we can do to fix it. After I finshed the storyboard we added our contributions to the 20 global issues wiki and now I'm working on my powerpoint for voice thread.

How have we been working on our Global Issues Project?

On etherpad we researched our topic which is Biodiversity and Ecosystem losses. There was a set of questions which were kind of a guidline to what we were supposed to research. We divided those questions among the members of the group and each of us researched about 2 questions. Once we were done we researched more things and noted them and then we bookmarked some of the websites we used using Diigo.
